Poll & Post: Weigh in here
Here it is, A-Town readers! Your chance to weigh in on the question looming in so many people's minds: "Should the true identity of 'A-Town' and its characters be revealed?" Cast your vote by 12 noon on Sept. 1st! Post survey opinions as Comments to this post.
I voted that it doesn't really matter. I don't think it harms anything to reveal it... but then again, the only people to whom the name will mean anything already know where you live. =)
I think you should stick with the pseudonyms. Once someone gets something as simple as names and where A-town is.... Well, let's just say I was paid to check into someone, and I was pretty amazed at how much I could pick up. Keep your family safe.
I really don't think safety is an issue here. The chances of anything happening as a result of this blog are infinitesimal. Hundreds of thousands of people reveal information like their hometown and kids' names without any ill effects at all.
Live dangerously. The pseudonyms are great, but your real names are better. Plus, it takes only about three clicks of the mouse to discover who you really are, if you happen to have an inclination to do so!

I like the names you've come up with for Ben, Pearl and Vi. :)
I think it's funny that the person who wrote the previous comment just outted people you write about. Oops!
Nope, she didn't, actually--those are the kids' "code names." :-)
I love the whole code thing...it is so much fun being in the inner circle and knowing or trying to guess!

OK... I just found the official place to vote -- which I have already cast now.
But, I have to say, the people who think the Internet is safe, are sadly delusional!!! It is NOT safe!
Keep the facade!!! Unless you decide to close the blog to invited readers only.
